A year has passed

Well a year has passed since I took the elder one out of school. So what did we achieve? She managed to add one juz, alhamdulillah, less than what I’d like, but we also did the JAIS silibus (what a chore!), First Language Lessons, some Igniting Your Writing and Star Writer for English, Year 3 MEP Math, KBSR Bahasa Malaysia, KBSR sains, a sprinkle of Montessori Science/Culture and Math, and I mean a sprinkle since we were so bogged down by CURRICULUM!

What I’d like is to have my kids to wake up early as a habit, pray on time, fear Allah, have good akhlaq, treat each other nicely, look after their things and the house properly, good manners at the table, with other people, can express themselves well and speak out appropriately, stop asking questions without thinking, not talk so much (to hold back when arguing), do house chores consistently out of habit and responsibility and desire to help the family (ikhlas), recite the Quran melodiously with tajweed, memorise the Quran in 3-4 years and maintain it, exposed to everyday Arabic, good oratory skills in both Bahasa Malaysia and later in English.

That’s about one trip/more per month, whew! Need to get the letters rolling!
